We are pleased to continue the Jack Creek Road pass program offered through the Madison Valley Ski Club. This program provides recreational access to the private Jack Creek Road to the residents of the Madison Valley so that they may enjoy skiing and other winter activities at Big Sky Resort.

Please read the following information thoroughly before proceeding with the application. Failure to provide the correct information may cause a delay in your approval.

Big Sky Season Passholders who are residents of Madison County and over the age of 18 may apply for membership in the Madison Valley Ski Club.

• STEP 1: Purchase any 2023-2024 Big Sky Resort season pass (click to view options)*

  • At least one member of your family must purchase the lift product.

  • If you are a non‐skiing parent and expect your child will be a participant in the M‐BAR‐T program, you are not required to purchase an adult season pass in order to get access to Jack Creek Road to take your child to recreate.

  • Proof of purchase of one of the above products is required in order to qualify for the road pass.

  • *Resort products that are conditional qualifiers for Jack Creek Road access may be subject to change.

• STEP 2: Complete the NEW Online MVSC Application below when it is available November 1, 2023. Be prepared with the following info:

  • Contact Information, Driver’s license number, physical address, and phone number for all applicants. Up to two adults age 18 or older may be listed on the application.

  • Receipt for your purchase of a qualifying resort product (see above) or copy of your season pass.

  • Digital copies of:

    • Driver’s license for all applicants

    • Vehicle insurance id card(s) (2 vehicles maximum may be listed under one road pass)

    • Proof of residency or ownership in Madison County, Montana. Your tax record works great, find yours at: http://svc.mt.gov/msl/mtcadastral/. Other acceptable proof is a copy of a recent utility bill / water bill, or lease agreement that reflects your physical address.

• STEP 3: Payment

  • The 2023-2024 MVSC membership is $575.00 and covers the duration of the Big Sky Resort winter season. See below for additional payment policies. Your payment option is below.

    • Complete your online payment on the Ennis Chamber website via credit card using the “MVSC Payments” link below.

• STEP 4- Processing and Approval

  • You will receive a series of 3 confirmations from our automated system during the application process:

    • A “Success” message on this site when your online application has been received by our system

    • A confirmation email When we have reviewed and approved your documentation.

    • A pass email. When we have received your payment and your application is complete. REMEMBER: THIS EMAIL IS YOUR PASS. Please print it and display on your windshield when using the road

  • Applications received by November 20 are guaranteed to be processed before Opening Day, November 22. Applications received after November 20 will be processed within 48 hours (M-F), in the order in which they are received.

Pass Process & Policies

• Your application is not complete until your payment, correct documentation, and completed online form are received.

• Passes will be processed within 48hours of receipt (M-F). Applications received on Friday after 2pm are considered received on Monday.

• We will contact you if more information is required to complete your request.

• We reserve the right to refuse access to anyone.

• Once your application is approved, your pass will be emailed to you. This year’s pass is formatted as an email and has the MVSC logo at the top.

• In the event that the ski season is cut short by unexpected resort-wide closure, the MVSC access will terminate, and a credit will be provided towards your 22-23 MVSC pass based on the percentage of the season that was lost.

Road Rules and Requirements

• The MVSC pass is strictly for winter recreational access to Big Sky Resort. Use for work commuting or other unapproved use will result in immediate termination of your pass without refund. If you need a Contractor Pass for work purposes, click here.

• Drivers must be at least 18 years old.

• Your pass is valid in ONE of the vehicles on our application at a time. You may not use both vehicles at the same time on a single pass.

• You must display your pass in the windshield of your vehicle at all times when driving on the road.

• Drivers are required to drive a vehicle that is equipped for off-road winter conditions. (4WD/AWD/Winter Tires). Drivers use the Jack Creek Road at their own risk.

• Drivers who break down or get stuck are responsible to get a tow immediately.

• Failure to abide by the road rules, sharing your pass, or giving the gate code to someone else will result in immediate revocation of your pass and future access for all parties involved.

• Using the road without a valid pass is considered trespassing and will be reported to the Madison County Sheriff’s office.
